Case Hardening Carbonitriding

With case hardening, the edge of a component is carbonised with a carbon-releasing medium and then quenched. If nitrogen is then added, the process is called carbonitriding.

Advantages

  • High surface hardness, tough core
  • Improves mechanical characteristics
  • Improves resistance to wear and tear
  • Increases tensile strength

Materials

  • Low-alloy steels
  • Case-hardening steels

Available plant sizes

  • Length 900 mm, width 600 mm, height 600 mm
