Micro-Puls-Plasma-Nitrieren

Components of high load machines like shafts, axes, bars or gear-wheels subject to critical force regarding their surface layer.
In a lot of cases improving surface characteristics is sufficient. Inclusion of nitrogen into these surface layers is called nitration. Gases for this kind of treatment are ammoniacal gas, nitrogen, methane and hydrogen. Plasmanitration takes place in a vaccum chamber under ionised atmosphere. In order to create wear-oriented layers mixed-gases are also used.
Composition of gas, pressure temperature and time will determine the quality of the surface.

Advantages of this heat treatment:
- high wear-resistance against abrasion and adhesion
- low warpage
- layer adjustment according to sort of wearing
- reduction of friction coefficients
- partial hardening
- thermical strengh and tempering resistance of surface up to 500°C
- environmental compatibility
