Turning is chipping with a geometrical defined cutting edge and a rotating cutting movement. The single sided edge usually is clamped and lead along the working surface of the turning part.

Flat surfaces, drills, lengthwise-, crosswise- and spiral-grooves can be created while processing on the lathe.

Typical Use: Drive- hoisting- and conveying engineering, woodworking, paper-machines, farming-machines and diecasting.
