Demands for an optimal use of bag turbines
- diameter of pressure tube at least 2 inches
- height of fall and amout of water determines suitable type of turbine
Height of fall
Height of fall can be determined using an altimeter or contour lines from maps. For existing pressure tubes preasure measurement can be used.
Amount of water
The use of bag turbines requires exact measurement of water amount during a long period. For individual adaption the amount of water per second must be known.
For small amounts of water measurement can be done using a barrel and stopping time needed to fill it.
In case of lack of water the system can be combined and optimised with a photovoltaic facility.
Generally
Before using public waters country-specific laws and demands have to be considered.
Turbines can be fitted to any suitable (diameter) drinking water tube and are maintenance-free.
Fields of application are alps, cottages, residences and all buildings not connected to a public power network, that are supplied with water and have a spring with sufficient amount of water.
